Residents of Sotik, Bomet County, were left stunned after a man allegedly killed his cousin and later posted on Facebook claiming the victim was missing — only for it to emerge that he was the prime suspect in the killing.
According to preliminary reports, the suspect is believed to have dumped his cousin’s body in a nearby dam before pretending to join the search efforts.
In a dramatic turn of events, he later led police officers and members of the public to the scene where the body had been hidden, shocking everyone involved.
Authorities have confirmed that the suspect is currently in custody at Sotik Police Station as detectives launch a full investigation into the incident. The motive behind the killing remains unclear.
The body has since been retrieved and moved to the morgue as police continue with their inquiries.
