Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has confirmed that President William Ruto has panicked over the outcome of the 2027 presidential election, and he is busy trying to divide opposition leaders to avoid defeat in the poll.

Speaking during a service at Calvary Christian Tabernacle Church in Mutituni, Machakos County, on Saturday, Gachagua, who was accompanied by former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka and other Ukambani leaders, revealed that the Head of State is sweating profusely since he has realized he has no numbers to win his re-election in 2027.

Gachagua further revealed that Ruto is sending emissaries to Kalonzo, who is also the Wiper Democratic Movement party leader, to convince him to abandon the opposition and join the broad-based government.

In a direct message to Ruto, Gachagua told the president to directly talk to him if he wants to work with Kalonzo.

“You keep sending people to look for Kalonzo. Please, if you want Kalonzo, talk to me,” Gachagua said.

“We have sat with Kalonzo and Kamba leaders and Gikuyu, Embu, and Meru (GEMA). I have been told, for the time being, I’m the family’s spokesperson. So, if you want to talk to Kalonzo, don’t look for brokers—look for me.”

The former deputy president described the GEMA and Kamba communities as “one family” and said they had resolved to plan their political direction together.

“We are one family, Kambas and us. The Mt. Kenya and Kambas have lost a lot by not sitting together to plan. But God’s timing is best. The time has come for the family to sit together—we are cousins,” he said.

Impeccable sources say Ruto has promised Kalonzo Musyoka the deputy president slot in 2027 should he decide to abandon Gachagua’s opposition and join the government.

The President has also assured Kalonzo that he will support his presidential bid in 2032 should he support his re-election in 2027.
