An outspoken Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Member of Parliament has asked Kenyans across the political divide to pray for former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, who is fighting for his life at King’s College Hospital London.
According to an impeccable source, Raila Odinga left the country last Friday for specialized medical treatment at King’s College Hospital London’s Dubai branch.
Though ODM on Sunday issued a statement dismissing claims that the former Premier is sick, an ODM MP has confirmed that Baba is seriously sick.

Speaking on Sunday, Suba South MP Caroli Omondi urged Kenyans to pray for Odinga’s quick recovery.
“I want to appeal to all Christians of all denominations across the country to say a special prayer for our leader, Raila Odinga, that he may regain his health and strength. As he recuperates in the hospital, we hold him dearly in our thoughts and prayers,” Caroli Omondi said.
Raila is currently admitted at King’s College Hospital London.
King’s College Hospital London is globally renowned for its specialization in liver disease, oncology, cardiology, orthopaedics, breast health, and neurology.
This is not the first time Mr. Odinga has faced health challenges. In June 2010, while serving as prime minister, he underwent brain surgery at Nairobi Hospital to remove a blood clot. The operation was successful, and his condition stabilised soon after.
In 2017, Mr. Odinga was admitted twice—first in March, when he was treated at Karen Hospital for severe fatigue and food poisoning, and later in July in Mombasa after a similar incident during political rallies.
More recently, in March 2021, he was admitted to Nairobi Hospital for medical checks, during which he tested positive for COVID-19.
His current condition has once again drawn concern from supporters and the political class, with many awaiting official confirmation regarding the precise nature of his illness.
