Social media is on fire after an X user raised alarm over a woman who was caught on camera attempting to unlock a lost Google Pixel 7 Pro belonging to his cousin.
According to the viral post, the phone reportedly went missing yesterday, but earlier today, the owner received an automatic security alert from Google after the device detected multiple failed unlock attempts.
The phone’s inbuilt face capture feature took a clear screenshot of the person trying to access it — revealing the image of an unknown woman staring directly into the camera.
The concerned user shared the photo on X with a caption that quickly grabbed public attention.
“My cousin lost his Google Pixel 7 Pro yesterday, and today he noticed this lady tried unlocking it unsuccessfully hadi ikapiga screenshot. If anyone knows this lady, please reach out. Kindly retweet and share — someone who knows her might be on your timeline.”
Within hours, the post went viral, with hundreds of Kenyans reposting the image and tagging digital crime units, hoping to identify the mysterious woman.
While some users speculated that she might have innocently found the phone, others believe she could be linked to the theft.
The Google Pixel 7 Pro, known for its advanced facial recognition and anti-theft protection, automatically triggers such screenshots when unauthorized attempts are made.
