A recent opinion poll conducted by a Kenyan on X (formerly X/Kox) has revealed who could potentially win the presidential race between incumbent President William Ruto and his former deputy, Rigathi Gachagua.

Ruto has already announced his intention to seek re-election in 2027, while Gachagua has declared his bid for the presidency under the United Opposition ticket. Ruto, on the other hand, plans to contest using a joint ticket between the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).

The Head of State has been confidently asserting that he will teach the United Opposition, led by Gachagua, a lesson in 2027, vowing to defeat them decisively. “The only person who was giving me a headache was my late brother, Raila Odinga. These others are a walkover,” Ruto stated on Friday while campaigning in Western Kenya.

Amid Ruto’s confident remarks, a Kenyan identified as Hon. Nancy Okil conducted an online poll on X, asking Kenyans to choose between Ruto and Gachagua.

Over 1,700 respondents participated in the poll, and surprisingly, Gachagua overwhelmingly defeated Ruto. According to the results, 63.5% voted for Gachagua, while 36.5% supported Ruto.
