A customer has taken to social media to express disappointment over how a popular restaurant chain handled a disturbing incident at its Garden City branch.
According to the customer, what started as an ordinary meal quickly turned into an unpleasant experience after he discovered a foreign object inside his food.
“I walked into Java Garden City and ordered chicken breast with kachumbari. Halfway through my meal, I noticed a blue-like object in my kachumbari. I called the waitress, and they took it away,” he narrated.
After completing his meal and settling the bill, curiosity led him to inquire further about the mysterious object.
He was shocked to learn that it was actually a piece of a kitchen glove—the kind worn by staff while handling food.
While the presence of such an object in a meal is alarming, the customer said what upset him most was the restaurant’s response—or lack thereof.
“What really pissed me off was how they handled the situation. At least they could have come to me and explained, or rather offered an apology,” he said.
The incident raises fresh concerns about food safety and hygiene standards in popular restaurant chains across the country.
Consumers often trust that established brands maintain strict kitchen procedures, but such occurrences expose potential lapses in quality control and staff supervision.
