The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has launched a formal investigation into the fatal road accident that claimed the life of businessman and politician Cyrus Jirongo. The incident occurred on Saturday night along the Nairobi-Nakuru highway in Naivasha.

According to preliminary reports, detectives are working to establish the exact circumstances of the crash. This includes examining the condition of the vehicles involved, the actions of the drivers, and whether all traffic laws were adhered to at the time.

The DCI stated that forensic analysis, witness testimonies, and traffic surveillance records will be crucial to the inquiry. This comprehensive approach aims to determine responsibility and prevent public speculation.

The investigation seeks to provide clarity, ensure accountability, and deliver justice to the family of the deceased and the public.

The DCI has assured Kenyans that the process will be thorough, impartial, and strictly guided by the law. Findings will be made public once the probe is concluded. Authorities have urged the public to remain calm and allow investigators to work without interference, misinformation, or premature conclusions.

The full statement from the DCI is provided below.
