Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has dismissed claims circulating online that he is currently hospitalised after falling ill.
Speculation about Kindiki’s health spread rapidly on social media after he failed to attend a key public event presided over by President William Ruto.
During the function held in Baringo, Public Service Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku issued an apology on behalf of the Deputy President, explaining that Kindiki was unable to attend due to ill health.
CS Ruku, however, noted that the Deputy President had sent a donation to support the event despite his absence.
Following the reports, Kindiki took to social media to clarify the situation, assuring Kenyans that he was well and dismissing claims of hospitalisation.
His statement appeared to calm public concern, with no official indication that the Deputy President had been admitted to hospital.
