A swift, intelligence-led operation by a multi-agency security team in Diani has resulted in the arrest of a suspected drug trafficker and the seizure of a significant quantity of cannabis.
Detectives first intercepted two green gunny bags packed with rolls of cannabis.
The suspect, identified as Hellen Saru Mwajombo, 36, then led officers to her nearby residence, where an even larger haul was recovered.
A thorough search of the house yielded multiple packages of cannabis, including a black bag and another green gunny bag, all stuffed with the narcotics.
Authorities also impounded a white Nissan Note, registration number KDS 092K, suspected to have been used in transporting the drugs.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) reaffirmed its commitment to dismantling drug trafficking networks through relentless operations and multi-agency collaboration, emphasizing a zero-tolerance policy for traffickers, regardless of status.
The suspect is expected to be arraigned in court as investigations continue into the source and distribution network of the seized narcotics.
