Detectives from DCI Central in Nairobi have arrested four suspects linked to an employment fraud syndicate accused of targeting unsuspecting job seekers by falsely claiming they could secure jobs in the National Intelligence Service (NIS).

The arrests followed investigations into a complaint by a victim who reported losing Sh600,000 after being lured with promises of an NIS job.

To make the scheme appear legitimate, the suspects allegedly issued the victim with a fake NIS calling letter purporting that she had been successfully recruited.

Acting on actionable intelligence, detectives tracked down and arrested the four suspects identified as Patrick Kibor, Moses Tarus Kibor, Humphrey Ngeiywo Kutuli, and Abraham Kimeli.

During the operation, detectives recovered several documents believed to be linked to the fraudulent scheme. The documents are currently undergoing forensic examination to establish their authenticity and determine the full extent of the syndicate’s operations.

The suspects remain in police custody as they undergo processing ahead of their arraignment in court.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has reminded members of the public that recruitment into government agencies follows established procedures and does not require payment at any stage.

Members of the public have been urged to treat any request for payment in exchange for employment as a scam and report it to the relevant authorities.
