Former Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has sparked speculation after challenging former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua to publicly swear that he has neither made nor intends to make a political deal with President William Ruto ahead of the 2027 General Election.
In a post shared on his X account, Kuria challenged Gachagua to seek an appointment with the Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of East Africa (PCEA) and appear before cameras accompanied by his wife, Pastor Dorcas Rigathi.
Kuria proposed that Gachagua hold a Bible and make a solemn declaration denying any political agreement with Ruto.
“I, Rigathi Gachagua, do solemnly swear, that I have not made a deal with President William Ruto,” Kuria wrote.
He further challenged Gachagua to swear that he would not enter into any deal with Ruto before August 10, 2027.
The remarks have sparked speculation, with some interpreting Kuria’s challenge as a suggestion that there could be behind-the-scenes political discussions between Gachagua and Ruto.
His challenge comes amid heightened political realignments ahead of the 2027 General Election, with politicians and political formations positioning themselves for the upcoming contest.
Kuria concluded his message by directly challenging Gachagua to respond.
“Over to you my brother. I am waiting,” Kuria wrote.
