Detectives from the National Anti-Narcotics Investigations Bureau (NANIB) have arrested two suspects and recovered a consignment of cannabis during a raid on a residential house in Kibwezi, Makueni County.
Acting on a tip-off, the detectives raided the house, which was suspected of being used as a narcotics storage and distribution centre.
The operation led to the arrest of Abdulatif Mohamed and Oscar Muema Nduku, who were found at the premises.
A search of the house uncovered 493 rolls of bhang, two brown envelopes and a carrier bag containing cannabis.
Detectives also recovered two weighing scales, Rizla papers and other items believed to have been used in handling and packaging the drugs.
Additionally, cash suspected to be proceeds of crime was seized during the operation as detectives intensified efforts to dismantle drug distribution networks operating in the region.
The two suspects remain in custody as they undergo processing ahead of further legal action.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) continues to urge members of the public to share information that can help authorities combat drug trafficking and other criminal activities.
