Mystery surrounds the deaths of two foreign nationals who were found with gunshot wounds inside an apartment at Meteor Gardens Apartments along Chania Avenue in Kilimani, Nairobi.
The two have been identified as Nguyen Hong Ngoc, a Vietnamese woman, and Xi Zhiyu, a Chinese man, who reportedly lived together in House A506.
According to a police occurrence book (OB) report, the incident was reported on Tuesday at around 10:00 am after the apartment manager heard gunshots coming from the house.
The apartment was locked from the inside, prompting the manager to use a spare key to open it for detectives who arrived at the scene.
Inside, officers found the two lifeless bodies seated side by side on a mattress in the sitting room, both bearing gunshot wounds to the head.
Police preliminary findings indicate that Xi allegedly shot and killed Nguyen before turning the gun on himself.
However, the motive behind the incident remains unknown, as detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
A BUL 9mm pistol, a magazine loaded with 13 rounds of ammunition, two spent 9mm cartridges and a handwritten note suspected to be a suicide note were recovered from the scene.
DCI crime scene investigators from the Nairobi Region documented and processed the scene before moving the bodies to Chiromo Funeral Parlour, where they await autopsy examinations.
Detectives are investigating the possible motive behind the deaths and the ownership of the firearm.
