Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has led leaders allied to the Linda Mwananchi movement to Wamunyoro in Nyeri County, where they were welcomed by former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua following his return from the United States.
Gachagua took to social media to welcome the leaders to his Wamunyoro residence, describing them as his cousins and expressing optimism about their meeting.
“Welcome to Wamunyoro residence, my cousins from Linda Mwananchi. When we come together, great things must happen,” Gachagua wrote.
The visit comes as political leaders continue to engage in discussions and build alliances ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Sifuna and other leaders associated with Linda Mwananchi have been vocal on issues affecting Kenyans, while Gachagua has continued to position himself as a key figure in the opposition political landscape.
The meeting was Gachagua’s first engagement at Wamunyoro in nearly two months. However, during his trip to America, he closely followed political developments in Kenya, including events surrounding the Linda Mwananchi movement.
During his tour, Gachagua confirmed that he had called both Sifuna and Embakasi East MP Babu Owino over infighting within Linda Mwananchi after supporters of the two leaders turned against one another.
