Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has penned a heartfelt birthday message to his wife, Pastor Dorcas Rigathi, recalling the humiliation they endured two years ago after his impeachment and promising her a grand celebration next year.
In a social media post, Gachagua wished Dorcas another year filled with grace and favour, saying their family had experienced numerous blessings and overwhelming acceptance from Kenyans over the past two years.
“Happy birthday, my gal! It’s yet another year filled with grace and favour,” he wrote.
Gachagua recalled that two years ago, they celebrated Dorcas’s birthday while in shock after what he described as being humiliated and disgraced by a man they had sacrificed everything to make king, in an apparent reference to President William Ruto.
However, he said their circumstances had since changed, expressing gratitude to God for keeping their family happy and blessing them with support from Kenyans.
“As we prepare to travel back home and engage the final gear in the liberation of our country, please accept my assurance that, on a day like today next year, I will throw you the biggest birthday celebration bash ever at the most coveted address in the country,” he promised.
Gachagua, who said they had been married for 37 years, added that he had kept most of the promises he had made to his wife over the years.
“This is one promise I shall honour and must honour,” he declared.
