Controversial televangelist Victor Kanyari has revealed that he earned up to KSh1 million daily for nearly four years through his infamous “310 prayers” scheme.

In a recent interview, Kanyari claimed that the initiative, designed to offer miracles, financial breakthroughs, and personal blessings in exchange for a KSh310 “seed” from followers, generated massive daily contributions from thousands of believers who trusted his promises.

The “310 prayers” scheme first came to public attention in 2014, when investigations exposed widespread manipulation and fabricated testimonies.

Media reports confirmed that Kanyari had deceived desperate followers into believing in instant miracles, leading to public outrage and the eventual collapse of the religious scam.

The scandal had major personal consequences for Kanyari.

His then-wife, renowned gospel singer Betty Bayo, announced the end of their marriage shortly after the revelations, citing irreconcilable differences connected to the controversy.

Despite the exposure, Kanyari remains one of Kenya’s most polarising religious figures, continuing to make headlines with provocative statements and controversial claims.

The “310 prayers” saga is still remembered as one of the country’s most notorious religious scandals.
