A DCI officer attached to DCIO Bangale in Garissa County was assaulted by four men who robbed him of his firearm and other valuables.
According to an OB report, Corporal Abdi Hussein Adawe reported that he was attacked by the four men within the Bulla Sheikh Makaburini area of Garissa on Tuesday, September 29.
The attackers allegedly made away with his firearm loaded with 15 rounds of ammunition, a Samsung A04 mobile phone and Sh700 in cash.
Corporal Adawe sustained injuries during the attack and is currently receiving treatment at Garissa County Hospital.
Police and detectives have since intensified the search for the stolen firearm and ammunition as investigations into the incident continue.
Meanwhile, in Nakuru County, Sergeant Benson Chacha reported losing his Certificate of Appointment, National ID and other personal documents while pursuing four suspected phone snatchers in the Murogi area.
His wallet reportedly went missing during the chase as the suspects fled towards Nakuru National Park.
An inquiry has been opened at Mwariki Police Station.
