One more notorious robbery with violence suspect has today been arrested in an ongoing joint operation by detectives from DCI Headquarters and their Kisumu County counterparts.

The number of suspects in custody now stands at two with credible information linking the duo to several robberies in Milimani, Majengo, Jebrok, Kiboswa, Malava, Iguhu, Gita, Mamboleo and Riat areas.

The two suspects identified as Dennis Odhiambo Miruka and Brian Makaya Mukaisi have also been linked to an incident in which several police officers and a member of the public were injured, with one officer succumbing to the injuries later while in hospital.

During the incident the suspects stole two G3 rifles which they have since been using to commit robberies in Kisumu and parts of the Western region.

One firearm has since been recovered and the operation to recover the remaining firearm and arrest other members of the criminal network are ongoing.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations reaffirms its commitment to pursuing criminal networks and ensuring public safety and urges anyone with information that may assist in the ongoing investigations to come forward.
