Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Embakasi have recovered a stolen firearm and arrested a suspect following a swift intelligence-led operation.

According to the DCI, the operation was launched after the reported theft of a firearm belonging to a licensed gun holder.

Acting on intelligence leads and forensic analysis, detectives under the command of the SCCIO Embakasi tracked down the prime suspect, identified as 42-year-old John Bosco Munyao, within Nairobi’s Central Business District.

Following his arrest, Munyao reportedly led detectives to his residence in Kangemi, where officers recovered the stolen Glock pistol hidden inside a suitcase among clothes.

Police also recovered seventeen rounds of ammunition and two magazines during the operation.

The recovered firearm and ammunition have since been secured as exhibits as investigations continue.

The suspect remains in lawful custody awaiting arraignment in court.
