Detectives from Central Police Station in Nairobi have arrested two suspects and recovered 41 assorted mobile phones during an intelligence-led operation targeting a suspected phone theft syndicate.
The operation was conducted at a shop located inside Norwich House along Kimathi Street, where officers reportedly discovered the phones concealed inside a locked safe.
The recovered devices have been secured as exhibits as detectives work to establish their ownership and determine whether they were obtained through criminal activities.
Two suspects were arrested during the operation, while a third suspect managed to escape and is now being pursued by investigators.
The raid forms part of an ongoing crackdown by the National Police Service on networks suspected of dealing in stolen mobile phones in Nairobi and other parts of the country.
Police have urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities or individuals dealing in suspected stolen property to the nearest police station.
Investigations into the source and ownership of the 41 phones are ongoing, with detectives expected to establish the wider network behind the suspected trade.
