Kipipiri Member of Parliament Wanjiku Muhia has claimed that her personal driver was arrested by officers believed to be from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) while on his way to pick her up.
In a statement shared on social media, the outspoken legislator alleged that her driver was intercepted along Thika Road and taken to an unknown destination.
According to Muhia, individuals she identified as DCI officers were seen placing the driver into a Subaru vehicle before taking control of her car and driving away.
She further claimed that three other Subaru vehicles accompanied the operation.
“My personal driver has been arrested along Thika Road while coming to pick me and I do not know his whereabouts. Directorate of Criminal Investigations – DCI, you were evidently seen putting him in a Subaru, taking over my car while three other Subarus followed him to an unknown destination. Release him immediately,” she wrote.
The MP also revealed that her security detail had allegedly been withdrawn four days earlier, leaving her without official protection.
“Note my security was withdrawn 4 days ago. I am now driverless, and with no security! Could anything happen to me? The Government of Kenya is fully responsible,” she added.
