A General Service Unit (GSU) corporal was brutally killed after two masked men stormed his home in Got Nyapong Village, Bondo, Siaya County, in the early hours of Monday.
The officer, identified as 44-year-old Henry Okello Omondi Ojudi, was reportedly asleep with his wife when the attackers allegedly broke into the house and confronted him.
According to police, the assailants were armed with a panga and a sword and attacked the officer, inflicting serious injuries before fleeing the scene.
His wife reportedly escaped unharmed during the attack.
Police said nothing was stolen from the house, raising questions about the motive behind the killing.
The circumstances surrounding the attack remain unclear, with detectives launching investigations to identify the two masked attackers and establish what may have led to the targeted killing.
Investigators are expected to question witnesses and examine the scene as they piece together the events leading to the officer’s death.
