A middle-aged man from Kochia, Homa Bay County, has reportedly been stabbed to death by his wife, who is said to be on the run.
The victim, identified as Clemo De, was reportedly attacked on Saturday morning by his wife, Sheila, in circumstances that have left neighbours shocked.
The tragedy has attracted attention because of the couple’s seemingly happy relationship on social media.
Just four months ago, Clemo had proudly shared a post celebrating his wife, calling her the “Apple of my Eyes.”
“Four months ago, she was the ‘Apple of His Eyes.’ Today, he is dead and killed by the apple,” a post circulating on social media stated.
According to reports circulating online, Clemo had spent the previous day going about his usual activities in Homa Bay and even visited his usual club, where he spent time with friends.
He was reportedly unaware that it would be his last night alive.
The reports further claim that tensions had been building at home after his wife allegedly warned him against getting too close to a neighbour who had recently lost her husband.
On Saturday morning, shortly before Clemo was due to leave for his daily routine, a conflict ensued between the couple.
His wife picked up a kitchen knife and stabbed him in the chest, leaving him dead.
Sheila fled the scene and is said to be on the run as police continue investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
