Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) Managing Director, Capt. William K. Ruto, has been hospitalised following a tragic road accident that occurred in Taita Taveta on Friday, April 3.

According to a statement released by KPA on Saturday, April 4, the accident involved Ruto and members of his family.

“We are deeply saddened to announce that our Chief Executive Officer, Capt. William K. Ruto, was involved in a tragic road accident yesterday evening while travelling with his family,” the statement read.

The authority confirmed that the accident resulted in the death of his daughter.

“Regrettably, his daughter did not survive the accident. We extend our thoughts and deepest condolences to Capt. Ruto and his family during this time of immense grief,” KPA added.

Capt. Ruto, who has led KPA since 2023, is currently in stable condition and receiving close medical attention.
