A family in Kitengela has been left in distress after a mother of three reportedly travelled to Saudi Arabia for domestic work without informing her husband.
Benard Ongaki Omboga says he dropped his wife at her usual workplace, only for her not to return home that evening.
After searching for her, he later discovered that she had left the country for Saudi Arabia.
The 48-year-old, who is now caring for their three children on his own, says the children continue to ask about their mother every day as he struggles to balance work and parenting.
According to Omboga, he had no prior knowledge that his wife was planning to seek employment abroad.
He is now calling on the government to investigate recruitment agencies that facilitate overseas jobs, saying there should be safeguards to ensure families are adequately informed before such departures.
