Comedian and businessman Sammy Kioko has claimed that he has received only KSh 20,000 out of the KSh 19 million he says Machakos County owes him.

According to Kioko, the debt stems from a county tender he undertook alongside his sister and business partner.

The deal reportedly involved supplying uniforms and related gear for county staff.

Kioko has maintained that the arrangement was strictly business and not a favour, insisting that they fulfilled their end of the contract by delivering the required goods.

He says the county was expected to settle the full amount upon completion of the job.

The entertainer further alleges that the payment has been pending for nearly two years, despite follow-ups.

His claims have sparked conversation online, with many weighing in on the challenges suppliers face when dealing with government tenders.

The county government has not publicly responded to the allegations at the time of publication.
