A heartwarming reunion has unfolded at Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH), where a man who had been separated from his family for seven years was finally reunited with his brother, thanks to the power of social media.
According to a statement shared by Kenyatta National Hospital, Samuel Mburu, an accident patient who was brought to the facility from Kajiado on April 8, 2026, has been reunited with his brother, Joseph Maina from Makuyu, Murang’a County.
The breakthrough came after KNH shared Samuel’s photo online in an effort to trace his relatives.
Kinuthia saw the social media post and immediately recognized Samuel.
He promptly alerted the family, setting in motion an emotional reunion that ended seven years of separation.
When Joseph Maina arrived at the hospital, the touching moment confirmed that the search had finally come to an end, as Samuel instantly recognized his brother.
The emotional reunion has been widely celebrated as another example of how social media, when used positively, can help reconnect families and transform lives.
Kenyatta National Hospital hailed the efforts of everyone who played a role in making the reunion possible, including Kinuthia and members of the public who helped share Samuel’s story.
