A close ally of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has accused members of the Kikuyu community of being behind the problems currently facing Kenya.
In a social media post on Thursday, moments after President William Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance swept all the four by-elections held that day, Raila Odinga’s former presidential agent Saitabao Ole Kanchory said Kikuyus are the weak link in the journey to liberate Kenya.
He questioned how Ruto could win seats in Muminji and Evurore wards while former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua claims to be the Mount Kenya region kingpin.
During the by-elections, UDA won the Isiolo South parliamentary seat, the Muminji and Evurore ward seats in Embu County, and the West Kabras ward seat in Kakamega County.
Kanchory further claimed that it is Kikuyus who put Ruto in office and have since messed up the country, yet they continue to vote for UDA.
“Nyinyi watu ya Murima ni SHENZI SANA!!! You brought this disaster called Ruto on us and you are still here in 2026 riding a broken tetanus infested wheelbarrow. Your son Riggy G is taking antidepressants and copious doses of teargas and this is how you reward him. Shenzi sana! Na wewe Riggy G si ulisema kura haitaibiwa. Ata wewe ni Bure kabisa!,” Kanchory wrote on X.
