Health authorities in Nairobi are handling a suspected Ebola case involving a Turkish national at AAR Hospital along Kiambu Road.

According to reports, the foreign national arrived at the hospital at around 11pm while reportedly exhibiting symptoms associated with Ebola.

The incident was reported at AAR Hospital located between Muthaiga North and Ridgeways Estate along Kiambu Road.

Sources indicate that medics at the facility initially suspected a possible Ebola infection during preliminary assessment. However, the patient reportedly became uncooperative and wanted to leave the hospital before further medical procedures were completed.

Nairobi County and Sub-County Public Health officials were immediately notified and took over the matter.

Due to the sensitive diplomatic nature of the incident and the patient’s alleged refusal to remain under quarantine pending results, the Officer Commanding Station (OCS) Muthaiga was also informed for further guidance.

Samples from the patient were reportedly taken to the National Public Health Laboratory for further examination and analysis to confirm or rule out Ebola.

Authorities are expected to issue further guidance once the test results are released.
