The search for missing lawyer Esther Wairimu Keige has ended in tragedy after her body was found in Gatundu Forest, weeks after she disappeared.
Esther had been missing since early June, sparking concern among her family, friends, colleagues, and the Law Society of Kenya (LSK), which had appealed to the public to help trace her.
In an earlier statement, the LSK said Esther had been reported missing after she was last seen in the Juja area on June 10, 2026.
The society urged members of the public and relevant agencies to share any information that could assist in locating her safely.
Following the discovery of her body, messages of condolence have poured in from colleagues and members of the legal fraternity.
“My deepest condolences to her family and loved ones during this profoundly difficult time. May they find strength in the face of this devastating loss. May those responsible be identified, brought before the law, and held fully accountable,” read one of the condolence messages shared after the tragic discovery.
Authorities have launched investigations into the circumstances surrounding her death, with detectives expected to establish what happened between the time she disappeared and the discovery of her body in Gatundu Forest.
