Two men from the Kalenjin community, identified as Kiprono and Kimeli, embarked on an arduous cycling journey of more than 220 kilometres from Eldoret to Wamunyoro in what they described as a show of loyalty and admiration for former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

However, their highly anticipated visit ended in disappointment after they were reportedly denied an audience with the political leader.

According to accounts shared online, the duo arrived at Gachagua’s Wamunyoro residence after days on the road, hoping to personally greet him and express their support.

Instead, they were received by security officers at the gate.

The officers allegedly allowed them to take photographs outside the compound before asking them to leave.

The two men are said to have undertaken the journey as a symbolic gesture of political solidarity, cycling across counties in a trip that drew attention on social media.

Photos circulating online show the pair with bicycles and small travel bags, appearing visibly exhausted but determined.
