Two phone snatchers in Nairobi’s Parklands area unknowingly exposed themselves after attempting to unlock a stolen Samsung S23, only for the device’s advanced security features to capture their faces in sharp 4K quality.

The incident reportedly occurred when a woman was robbed of her high-end smartphone by the suspects, who quickly fled the scene, believing they had made a clean getaway.

However, the thieves’ plans went awry when they tried to access the device.

Unaware that the Samsung S23 automatically takes photos during failed unlock attempts, the suspects’ faces were recorded, providing crucial evidence that could help authorities identify and track them down.

The device’s security system serves as a powerful reminder of how technology can aid in cracking crimes and holding perpetrators accountable.

Authorities are reviewing the captured images as part of their ongoing investigation.
