A video circulating on social media has ignited public fury after police officers were filmed halting motorists along the busy Nairobi-Nakuru Highway to allow a motorcade linked to controversial religious leader Prophet David Owuor to pass.
In the footage, traffic comes to a complete standstill as a convoy of luxury vehicles makes its way along the highway under heavy police escort.
The incident has sparked widespread criticism, with many Kenyans questioning why ordinary road users had to be inconvenienced to facilitate the Prophet’s entourage.
Critics accused the police of abusing their authority and turning public roads into what they described as a “private VIP lane,” prompting calls for clearer regulations on the use of public resources for private events.
