The wife of Kakamega County Senator Dr Bonnie Khalwale has passed away. This was announced by Khalwale himself on Saturday morning, who said his wife suffered a sudden heart attack.
“My dear wife, Gloria Sekeiyan Khalwale, has this morning suddenly collapsed and died after a heart attack. She is the mother of Engine Kukaste Khalwale, Olivia Sabayi Khalwale, Flavia Shimuli Khalwale, Gift Atubukha Khalwale, Meliza Khamwenyi Khalwale, Velma Nasiebanda Khalwale, Sonia Inuni Khalwale, and Maura Makatse Khalwale,” Khalwale wrote on Twitter.
Many leaders, including President William Ruto’s constitutional advisor Professor Makau Mutua and opposition leaders led by former Mukurweini MP Kabando wa Kabando, mourned with Khalwale and his family.
“Dr Khalwale, I write with a heavy heart to convey my deepest condolences to you, your children, and your entire family. This unspeakable tragedy is simply unbearable. No words can express my grief. I wish you strength at this time of terrible trial,” Professor Makau wrote.
“Poleni sana, my rafiki, my bro, mtetezi Boni Khalwale, and entire family. May the soul of Mama Sekeiyan rest in eternal peace. Mola Maulana awape faraja, enyi nyote,” Kabando wa Kabando wrote on X.
