Last week, President William Ruto’s daughter, Charlene Ruto, married a Tanzania-born IT expert, Isaiah Yunge.
The wedding, held in Kilgoris, where President William Ruto had bought an expansive farm, attracted a lot of buzz both inside and outside Kenya.
Everyone wanted to know how a village boy from Tanzania won the heart of the President’s daughter. Little did they know that the boy was the brain behind Soma App, an application that has helped over 7,000 African students get scholarships abroad.
Less than a week after the engagement, details started emerging that Charlene Ruto’s boyfriend had earlier married a white woman and they had a child together.
Over the week, photos went viral showing Isaiah Yunge holding a child, which many claimed was his. However, details have now emerged that the child reportedly belongs to his best friend, whose wedding Yunge attended, and whom he was simply babysitting for.
Also, claims that Isaiah Yunge was once engaged to a Gabon girl identified as Princess Nguema have been proven false.
The lady was only maligning the name of Charlene Ruto’s boyfriend. Sources close to the couple have dismissed the allegations as malicious and unfounded, aimed at tarnishing the reputation of the newlyweds.
The wedding has been hailed as a beautiful union between two young Africans making a difference in their respective fields.
Charlene Ruto has been a vocal advocate for youth empowerment and education, while Yunge has made significant strides in the tech space with his Soma App. The couple has received an outpouring of support from well-wishers across the continent who have congratulated them on their union.
