Detectives from the Anti-Narcotics Unit (ANU) and the Transnational Organised Crime Unit (TOCU), working alongside officers from DCI Kyumbi, have arrested three suspects and recovered cannabis sativa with an estimated street value of Ksh 8 million.
Acting on actionable intelligence, the detectives intercepted a grey Toyota Voxy, registration number KBU 484U, in Athi River, only to discover it had been converted into a mobile stash house for narcotics.
A search of the vehicle led to the recovery of nine sacks of cannabis sativa weighing approximately 270 kilograms.
The suspects, identified as Benson Momanyi, Kennedy Mwanyura, and Wilfred Orina, were arrested at the scene and taken into custody.
They are expected to be processed and arraigned in court as investigations continue.
Meanwhile, the recovered narcotics and the impounded vehicle have been detained as exhibits.
