An intelligence-led operation by detectives from the Anti-Narcotics Unit (ANU), working jointly with officers from Ololua Police Station, has led to the discovery of a secret bhang farm in Kajiado County.
Acting on credible intelligence, the detectives raided the site and found a thriving cannabis cultivation.
They secured the scene before uprooting the mature cannabis sativa plants that had been cultivated on the farm.
During the operation, officers recovered 78.98 kilograms of suspected cannabis sativa packed in five sacks, with an estimated street value of Ksh 2,369,000, believed to have been ready for distribution.
The operation also led to the arrest of 40-year-old Joseph Leimyayan, who is currently in police custody as detectives finalise investigations before arraigning him in court.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has reaffirmed its commitment to combating the cultivation and trafficking of illegal drugs across the country.
