President William Ruto on Saturday left the country for Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, where he will hold bilateral meetings with key leaders of the two far eastern countries.
The president left the country aboard a luxurious jet that is usually used by billionaires like Elon Musk and princes like Mohammed bin Salman.
According to former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, the jet will cost Kenya taxpayers five million shillings per hour, meaning every day, taxpayers are paying one hundred and twenty million shillings for Ruto’s luxury jet.
Gachagua, who spoke in London, United Kingdom, also revealed that the luxurious jet has a Jacuzzi and a spa, and on top of that, the Kenyan head of state is accompanied by four ladies from Seychelles to perform his massages and other extras.
The Kenyan head of state, who is currently in Astana, Kazakhstan, is traveling while his country burns due to a surge in fuel prices. He initially landed in Baku, Azerbaijan, for a meeting that should have been attended by a junior state house employee.
Unlike other leaders who stay in the country during a crisis, Ruto, according to Gachagua, has chosen to hire a luxurious jet and roam around the globe as his countrymen sleep in hunger due to the high cost of living, which is a result of high prices.
For those who do not know, Kenya has the highest fuel prices in Africa.
