Fresh questions have emerged over the circumstances surrounding the death of celebrated Ohangla musician Tony Ndiema, as family, friends and fellow artistes continue to mourn one of the genre’s most recognisable voices.
While the musician’s passing has been widely confirmed, the exact cause of his death has not been officially disclosed, leaving fans and members of the music fraternity searching for answers.
Several of Ndiema’s close associates have claimed that, in the weeks leading up to his death, the singer had been battling an undisclosed illness that reportedly affected his ability to walk, speak and eat.
According to the associates, Ndiema underwent several medical examinations, including blood tests, general diagnostic assessments and an MRI scan.
They further claimed that despite the extensive tests, doctors were reportedly unable to establish a definitive medical cause for his deteriorating condition.
Some have also alleged that the musician appeared emotionally distressed in recent weeks and spent long periods on his mobile phone monitoring social media activity.
Ndiema was reportedly transferred to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) as his condition worsened before he eventually succumbed.
His death has sent shockwaves through Kenya’s entertainment industry, with fellow musicians describing the loss as devastating given his age, talent and active music career.
