Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has mourned the death of Mama Annah Nyatoro Wairimu, the mother of East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) MP Kanini Kega.
In a heartfelt condolence message posted on his X account, Gachagua revealed that he had only sent Kanini Kega to the United Kingdom on an assignment a day before the tragic news reached him.
“It is with profound sadness that I have learnt of the passing on of Mama Annah Nyatoro Wairimu, mother of EALA MP Hon. Kanini Kega, early today,” Gachagua stated.
“It is only yesterday that I gave you an assignment to the United Kingdom as my younger brother, only for you to arrive and receive the sad news,” he added.
The former Deputy President expressed his sincere condolences to Kanini Kega, the larger family, relatives, and friends during the difficult period of mourning.
Gachagua described the late Mama Annah as a hardworking family matriarch who sacrificed greatly to educate her children and positively impacted the lives of many people in her village through her kindness.
He also conveyed condolences to members of the Women’s Guild at PCEA Mwiyogo Parish, where the deceased reportedly served diligently and played an active role in church development.
“The loss of a mother is painful; may God grant you and your family strength to bear the loss,” Gachagua said.
He further assured the bereaved family of continued prayers as they prepare to give Mama Annah a befitting send-off.
“May the soul of Mama Annah rest in eternal peace and perpetual light shine upon her forever,” he concluded.
