A digital media journalist identified as Mururi TV was on Thursday night rushed to St. Benedict Hospital in critical condition following an alleged assault during the Ol Kalou by-election.
According to reports circulating online, the journalist was reportedly attacked by hooded, heavily armed security officers while covering events related to the by-election.
It is alleged that the officers confiscated his equipment, including cameras and mobile phones, before leaving the scene.
The hooded men were reportedly traveling in high-end Toyota Prado vehicles.
The journalist was later taken to St. Benedict Hospital, where he was admitted in critical condition. Reports indicate that he is receiving emergency medical treatment.
