The late Zacchaeus Talam, popularly known as Tom, has been laid to rest in Kelelwa, Mogotio Constituency, Baringo County, weeks after his death in the United States.
Tom, 46, had been reported missing on April 29, 2026, after he was last seen in Bethany, Oregon.
His disappearance sparked concern among family, friends, and members of the Kenyan diaspora before his body was discovered ten days later.
Speaking during the burial ceremony, family pastor Apostle Isaac Nganga said authorities who examined Tom’s body found no evidence indicating that he had been murdered or died by suicide.
According to the pastor, investigators did not find visible injuries, signs of violence, broken limbs, or indications of self-harm on the deceased’s body.
However, he noted that investigations are still ongoing to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the death and urged the public to avoid speculation as authorities continue with the probe.
The pastor also emphasized the importance of mental health awareness, revealing that Tom had struggled with depression and encouraging men to seek support during difficult moments.
Family members thanked Kenyans living in Maryland, Oregon, and Virginia for their support and contributions that helped facilitate the repatriation of Tom’s remains back to Kenya for burial.
