Passengers on a Guardian Angel bus from Kisumu to Nairobi have flagged serious safety concerns after being stranded multiple times due to persistent mechanical problems throughout the journey without any resolution from the company.

According to the commuters, the bus also has a leaking roof, which has soaked through several seats.

“Hello Nyakundi. Kindly highlight the plight of passengers using Guardian Bus from Kisumu. This bus has been having mechanical problems ever since we started the journey; we have stopped in five places but it seems the problem is not fixed. Now it is stalled in Mau Summit. The driver acknowledges the bus has a problem but management is reluctant to act because of the festive season. The roof is leaking and the seat where I am seated is weak and wet due to leakages. It is reported that this bus dropped people from Galo on the sides of Bumala and just made a U-turn back to Nairobi. We have tried to reach the management but they are not picking calls. Look how the bus is leaking yet they charge Ksh 1,850 for the trip. We are now stalled at Mau Summit and more rain is coming. We don’t know what will happen next.”
