A Machakos County Government ICT officer has reportedly died after his drink was allegedly spiked by suspected “mchele ladies” during a night out with colleagues.
The deceased, identified as Alfonse Matee, is said to have been out enjoying drinks with his workmates at a newly-launched club near Makutano Junction when the incident occurred.
According to reports, his drink was allegedly spiked, leading to a suspected overdose.
His condition reportedly deteriorated before he was later found along the Nairobi–Mombasa Highway.
His body was taken to the Machakos Level Five Hospital mortuary, where it awaits postmortem examination.
It is further alleged that his colleagues also lost an undisclosed amount of money after falling victim to the same group of women during the night out.
The late Alfonse was described by colleagues and acquaintances as a skilled ICT expert and a well-known tech enthusiast within the county government.
Authorities have not yet issued an official statement as investigations into the circumstances surrounding his death continue.
