Ruto To Spend Sh70 Billion On Two Jets And Eight Choppers For 2027 Campaigns – Gachagua Drops A Bombshell

In a shocking revelation, former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has claimed that President William Ruto is planning to spend Sh70 billion (approximately $542 million) on two executive jets and eight helicopters ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

Kenya, a country still grappling with poverty and unemployment, has been facing harsh economic times. President Ruto, who won the 2022 general election on a “Hustler Nation” platform, had promised to transform Kenya into a middle-income nation by fighting corruption and cutting government wastage. However, critics argue that his administration has done little to honour those pledges.

According to Gachagua, who now leads the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) and heads the opposition, the president has already authorised senior military and government officers to travel to Vietnam to finalise the purchase of the aircraft.

“Officers from the military and the Office of the President have been dispatched to Vietnam to purchase two executive jets and eight helicopters at a cost exceeding Sh70 billion,” Gachagua claimed during a church service in Kirinyaga County on Sunday.

He accused the Ruto administration of prioritising luxury and political campaigns over essential public services such as healthcare and education, which he said are in crisis.

“Our children are at home because schools lack resources. Hospitals have no medicine. The Social Health Authority (SHA) is a scam. While Kenyans are suffering, the president is buying expensive machines for his campaigns. This is the greatest fraud ever witnessed in our country,” Gachagua stated.

The outspoken former deputy president further criticised Ruto for abandoning the ordinary citizens who voted for him, saying the government’s extravagant spending is widening the gap between the rich and the poor.

As the 2027 general election draws closer, political temperatures continue to rise, with Gachagua positioning himself as one of Ruto’s fiercest critics. His allegations have reignited public debate on government accountability, corruption, and the misuse of taxpayers’ money in an already struggling economy.
