Former Maringo MCA Mark Ndung’u is counting losses after his entertainment joint in Bahati was demolished by the Kenya National Highways Authority (KENHA), leaving property of unknown value destroyed.

Ndung’u, a vocal supporter of President William Ruto, had been operating the popular Voices Lounge Bar and Grill, a club that had gained traction due to its strategic location and vibrant clientele.

According to reports, bulldozers moved in and brought down the establishment over allegations that the structure had been erected on a road reserve.

The demolition is said to be part of an ongoing enforcement exercise targeting developments encroaching on public land.

Sources indicate that Ndung’u made several attempts to reach out to State House but his calls were not answered.

Ndung’u has previously been mentioned in political debates surrounding last year’s Gen Z-led demonstrations, where some leaders were accused of mobilizing groups to infiltrate protests

It remains unclear whether the former MCA will remain loyal to the current regime after the demolition.
