The Law Society of Kenya (LSK) has announced the death of Elizabeth Wanjeri, a former Coast Branch representative, who passed away on September 29, 2026, after reportedly failing to wake up from sleep.
LSK President Charles Kanjama announced the news on Thursday, October 1, conveying the society’s condolences to Wanjeri’s family, friends and colleagues across the Coast Branch.
“We regret to announce the passing on of the former Coast rep, Elizabeth Wanjeri, who went to sleep and did not wake up on September 29, 2026. She was a dedicated lawyer and committed in service to the profession,” Kanjama wrote.
Earlier in 2026, Wanjeri had declared her candidacy for the position of LSK vice president ahead of the society’s leadership elections.
In a statement shared at the time, she outlined her record of achievement and articulated her vision for a more member-focused organisation.
The LSK extended its condolences to all who knew Wanjeri, honouring her legacy as a committed advocate who left a mark on the legal profession in Kenya.
