A vehicle stolen from the Karen–Gataka area has been successfully recovered within just three hours, following a swift response involving a tracking team and police officers.
According to a report on the incident, the vehicle was discovered missing on April 12, 2026, prompting the owner to immediately alert both authorities and a private tracking team.
The theft is believed to have occurred a day earlier.
Using installed tracking technology, operators at a 24/7 control room began monitoring the vehicle’s movement in real time.
The signal led them to Juja, where a recovery team was dispatched.
Upon arrival, the team located the vehicle parked along a street, but with clear signs of tampering.
The number plates had been altered, and the ignition system interfered with, an apparent attempt by the suspect to conceal the car’s identity.
As coordination with police got underway, the situation took a dramatic turn when the suspect reportedly returned and attempted to drive off with the vehicle.
With the rapid response of officers on the ground, the suspect was intercepted after a brief confrontation and apprehended.
The vehicle was later secured at Juja Police Station.
Authorities also recovered the original registration plates, which had been hidden inside the car.
