A suspected notorious Dandora-based gangster known as Nono has been shot dead by police following a string of violent crimes that had left residents living in fear.

According to an undercover police officer familiar with the case, Nono had been on law enforcement’s radar since around 2019 due to his alleged involvement in organized criminal activities across Nairobi’s Eastlands area.

Despite spending several years at Kamiti Maximum Prison, he reportedly resumed criminal operations immediately after his release.

Authorities link Nono and his gang to multiple violent robberies and killings.

On April 5, he and accomplices allegedly attacked and killed a matatu conductor in the Barcelona area of Dandora Phase 3, robbing him of his mobile phone.

Just last Sunday, the gang is also suspected of killing another victim near the dumpsite entrance in the “41” (Webs) area.

He was gunned down by the police after a gun battle while colleagues fled.
