Lawyer Wahome Thuku has shared details of his attempt to get clarification from Murang’a Woman Representative Betty Maina regarding serious allegations made by DCP party digital strategist Councillor Njohi.
Njohi had previously alleged that he was abducted last week and claimed that former Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria and Betty Maina were involved in the incident.
He further alleged that Kuria personally took him to Betty, where she allegedly shaved his hair and took humiliating photos of him.
In a Facebook post, Thuku said he directly contacted Maina seeking confirmation on whether the claims were true or false.
However, according to him, she declined to respond to the allegations personally.
“She has told me she will not respond but will leave it to about 20 people who were with her from morning when she flew to Murang’a with colleagues and flew back to Nairobi in the evening and who were with her at a friend’s residence for the rest of that night. We call it alibi,” Thuku wrote.
The lawyer noted that Maina’s position effectively shifted attention to individuals said to have been with her throughout the day in question, suggesting they could account for her whereabouts.
Thuku further stated that he would not pursue the matter any further.
“On my part, I too leave it at that,” he added.
